The Character Counts! Kent County Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation
Character Counts! Kent County is a community based non-profit organization. We are the leading character education facilitator in our local schools. We are seeking sponsors interested in making an investment in our students.
In Kent County, character education is taught in pre-k through 9th grade. Currently, 118 volunteer character coaches visit 92 classrooms weekly. This enables nearly 1,700 students to receive character education lessons. Character coaches volunteer over 3,540 hours in class-time. This is accomplished on a budget of $20 per student, per year. We are seeking sponsors for all 1,700 students. We hope that you will be willing to sponsor a minimum of two students, or $40.
Statistically, 80% of Kent County Public School students graduate; 38% immediately enter the workforce. Our future leaders and neighbors are presently receiving character education lessons provided by Character Counts! Kent County volunteers.
