Character Counts! Kent County is a strong component of the Kent County Public Schools character education curriculum.
Local foundations, businesses, and individuals contribute to the organization. We would welcome your donation.
Character Count! Kent County enables local community members who wish to become character coaches in the classrooms to do so. Character Counts! Kent County assists in matching volunteers to classrooms. It provides training and program materials for all volunteer character coaches. We teach from a curriculum of over 50 lessons that are connected to the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship!
Approximately 120 volunteer character coaches visit over 90 classrooms. Over 1,700 students, pre-K through 9th grade receive character education lessons once a week.
