“Where’s Ray”  A Fundraising Campaign

Week 3 – Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming
Character Counts! Kent County is pleased to share another update of Ray Tarrach’s fundraising bike ride.  This segment of the journey saw the completion of the stops in Oregon, rides in Idaho, and an entrance into Wyoming.  The stops in Oregon: John Day (116 mi), Baker City (81 mi), Ontario (83 mi), were simply magnificent!  On June 29, Ray entered Idaho by riding into Boise (61 mi).  On June 30, the group had its first rest day.  The next day began a trek through Mountain Home (50 mi), Twin Falls (96 mi), Burley (39 mi) Blackfoot (111 mi), and Idaho Falls (35 mi).

As the ride continued in Wyoming, Mr. Tarrach visited: Jackson, Dubois, Riverton, Casper and Lusk.  By July 9, he has traveled 1,318 miles, with 2,321 miles remaining.  Especially challenging this week was the ride on July 6, through Jackson.  That day involved a climb of 5,989 feet.

This week, Mr. Tarrach’s efforts demonstrate the Pillar of Responsibility.  In order to meet the challenges of this portion of his journey, Ray must keep a positive attitude, and strive to do what he set out to accomplish.  Other examples of his responsibility include getting proper rest, maintaining a healthy diet, and keeping his bike in riding condition.
