“Where’s Ray”  A Fundraising Campaign

July 20, 2009

Week 5 – South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin

Mr. Ray Tarrach and his fellow riders biked nearly all week to cross South Dakota. As of July 20, 2009, Ray has completed 29 days of his 50-day fundraising bicycle ride for the benefit of Character Counts! Kent County. To date he has traveled 1,922 miles through five states: Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota and this week through Minnesota. Our non-profit organization is pleased to continue to share another update discussing Ray’s journey.

Mr. Tarrach continued through South Dakota on July 19, 2009; the past days riding through South Dakota: Wall (58 mi), Pierre (116 mi), Chamberlin (84 mi), Mitchell (71 mi) was interesting and fun. Although, Ray did express that the 116-mile ride on July 15 was quite challenging. The schedule had another rest day in Sioux Falls on July 19. On July 20th, Ray entered the state of Minnesota through Worthington (65 mi). He continues in Minnesota riding through Mankato (102 mi) and onto Rochester (97 mi). Ray will enter Wisconsin through the city of La Crosse.

In the most recent “Daily Team Journal” postings, Ray can be seen in Posts 22 and 23, Pierre and Chamberlin, South Dakota, photo #4 (he is the rider on the bridge) and photo #13 (1st rider in red and white shirt).

By July 23, Ray will have traveled 2,346 miles, with 1,293 miles remaining. Ray crossed the half mark on July 16! Especially challenging this week will be July 23 through La Crosse. This day will feature a climb of 3,700 feet.
